Playko Playground

Playko is a good quality public space with a clear identity, streetball courts, a place to meet friends, and a space for contemporary culture and events.

For several years, there had been a concrete plot of land in the centre of  Košice, waiting to fulfil its potential. We were approached by a young civic association "Dobrý kolektív" ("Good collective") with an incredible enthusiasm for a good cause to change this plot into a functional, good public space full of life. Together with designer Martin Jenč from Milk, Lousy, Viktor Fehér from Natreto in cooperation with the city of Košice we created a unique space connecting sport, art and culture. The playground can be used all year round. For majority of the year it serves as a sports field and a community space  and in the winter time it functions as an ice rink. The revitalisation of the area is part of the comprehensive concept of this park as a sports and relaxation zone.
